Evaluation of research and publications at universities and research departments is increasing; the evaluation is carried out, among others, by university administration, single researchers and external evaluators. Bibliometrics is the scientific field concerned with measuring scholarly publications, authors and citations.
What is being evaluated?
Countries, universities, research groups, scientific fields, connections between researchers, journals, citation practices
How is the evaluation done?
By measuring citations, various indicators (impact factor, h-index), ranking lists, bibliographies
Library offers trainings in an ICT class and webinars on how you will be able to find citation counts and h-index using the Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar databases. The training/ webinar will also give an overview of the Impact Factors and the Publication Forum.
Researcher profiles makes it easier to identify researchers and their research output. They also prevent problems related to name confusions: name changes, researchers with the same name, and different spelling variations of person’s name.
ORCID
ORCID is a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher. Publications and affiliations can be synchronized from UTUCRIS to ORCID.
