Affiliation information and the visibility of the University of Turku in author details

Authors of works created at the university should indicate their affiliation as the University of Turku and their respective department or discipline when publishing.

The prerequisite for free open access publishing or acceptance of a reduced article processing charge (APC) is that the author's affiliation in the publication must be the University of Turku or Turku University Hospital. Correctly marked affiliation also allows the publication to be linked to the correct unit in publication data collection. Additionally, it improves the evaluation and statistical analysis of research activities based on scientific publications.

The official, full name of the University (University of Turku / Turun yliopisto) should always be used instead of abbreviated forms.

Researchers affiliated with both the Faculty of Medicine and the Hospital District of Southwest Finland should include both affiliations in their publications. The recommended format is: Unit / Discipline / Specialty, University of Turku and Turku University Hospital.

Examples of affiliation formatting:

Ruby Researcher, Department of Information Technology and Communication Sciences, University of Turku

Ruby Researcher, Clinical Neuroscience, University of Turku, Turku University Hospital
