Celia's audiobooks for the print disabled persons
Celia lends course books free of charge to all university students with reading difficulties who find it difficult to read printed texts.
The textbooks and course books on loan are either audio books or compilations. A composite book contains the text of the printed book in electronic form and read aloud in machine voice.
You can register as a Celia customer at the Turku University Library. At the library, we will give you access to the Celianet online service. The reading barrier will be verified during the introductory conversation. You do not need to present a certificate of reading disability.
We can also advise you on borrowing, listening to books and using equipment.
If a course book is not available in an accessible format, we can make a production order for it on Celia. It takes about 3 months to produce a new book.
