MOT Dictionaries

MOT Dictionaries include tools for everyday communication: dictionaries (e.g. Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian), proofreading and translation software.

Search example

Ebscohost databases for the humanities: MLA International Bibliography with Full text (e.g. literature, ethnology, folklore, media studies), Communication and Mass Media Complete (communication, media studies), Historical Abstracts, Atla Religion Database with ATLASerials, Art Full Text, RILM Abstracts of Music Literature, SocINDEX With Full Text (e.g. folklore, ethnology, social sciences)

Academic Search Premier (Ebsco) - Advanced Search
 

  1. Enter one concept and its synonyms in a search box (e.g. wellbeing OR "well-being"). Truncate with * ja insert quotation marks around phrases.
  2. Combine lines with AND operator (default).
  3. From the menu at the end of the row you can select a more specific search field. The default Select a Field (optional) searches in e.g. title, abstract and subject words.
  4. From the Choose databases link you can change databases or search several databases at the same time.

ProQuest databases for the humanities: e.g. ProQuest Central (large multidisciplinary), Literature Online

ProQuest Central's Advanced Search

  1. Enter one concept and its synonyms in a search box (esim. wellbeing OR "well-being"). Truncate with * (e.g. graduate*) ja insert quotation marks around phrases (e.g. "well-being").
  2. Combine rows with AND operator (default).
  3. Choose from the menu at the end of the row a more specific search field, if necessary. The default, Anywhere except full text, searches e.g. title, subjects, abstracts and other bibliographic fields.
  4. From the Change databases link you can change databases or multi-search several databases at the same time.
