Once the studies have been selected, the relevant data from the studies are collected and recorded (usually in tabular form) for further analysis. This step is called the Extraction step. In addition to Data Extraction, this step includes Quality assessment of the studies. In Covidence, both steps can be done in the Extraction section.
Settings
Extraction 2.0 is the default option in new reviews. You can change the default in the settings of your review (Settings -> Review Settings).
Extraction 1.0 is built for reviews of RCTs. Extraction 2.0 is more flexible than the previous version and is suitable for a wider range of study types.
Note: Data are not transferred between Extraction 1.0 and Extraction 2.0. So only use one or the other in your review.
The number of reviewers for the Extraction phase can be set in the settings.
For more information or help with quality assessment or analysis of surveys, please contact the teaching staff in your institution/programme. Please note that the library does not provide guidance on how to carry out the Extraction phase.
