Zotero offers more than 8000 citation styles. There are both general styles and styles specific to individual journals. When you want to change your citation style, you can do so either on Word or in Zotero.
In Word, when writing a document:
- From the Zotero tab, select Document preferences.
- A pop-up window will appear where you can change the citation style. If the list does not contain the style you want, select Manage styles.
- In the window that opens, select Get additional styles.
- Search by style name. To get a preview of the style, hover your mouse over the name of the style you are referring to.
In Zotero, create a separate source list:
- From the Edit tab, select Settings
- In the window that opens, go to the Cite tab.
- Click on the Cites and References tab to open the Cites tab. If the list does not contain the style you want, select Manage styles.
- Search by style name. To get a preview of the style, move your mouse over the name of the reference style.
